If a WC is blocked, it can be a real inconvenience, for obvious reasons and most people would not know where to begin trying to rectify the problem especially if the homeowner is not very practically minded or maybe quite elderly and not concerned with all things do it yourself.

The symptoms are fairly simple, the waste will just not wash away when the WC is flush handle or button is operated, or it may be a slow drain, resulting in the waste returning with a threat of overflow in the room itself. This is a health issue, and therefore you should really call a professional plumber like a South West London Plumber who is trained on all this type of appliances.

Below is a guide:

(1). You will need to be in possession of something to free the blockage. A plunger will be a good start. The plunger is a wooden handle with a 6inch rubber bowl shape upside down on the end. You can buy them from all plumber’s merchants.

(2). Make sure that there is a level of water in the toilet bowl, this will help to form a seal with the plunger rubber. Who’s job is to seal itself against the porcelain and over the water in the bowl, and then is pumped back and forth with lots of force. The resultant vacuum will hopefully dislodge the blockage and allow it to be flushed away. In most cases of blockages, the plunger will do the job.

NOTE:
In the case of the WC still being blocked, it is likely that a mass is lodged further down inside the pipework and you will not have the equipment deal with it. It is possible that this problem could quite easily affect other places in the home such as your kitchen sink and also the bath, which of course will affect their operation. South West London Plumbers are trained to fault find and rectify blockages and provide a guarantee.
